Rally update and Flotilla Holiday Survey

We had a great rally to Cowes last weekend. We were lucky with the weather. On Saturday we had winds of 10-12kn with enough South in it to partially sail, arriving before the strong winds arrived. Sunday was great, and it was a cracking sail back on Monday in 12-25kn winds and flat seas sailing at 60 degrees to apparent wind. Koto was hitting hull speed with a single reef in.

Chichester Marina Rally - 17th to 19th October

Our next rally is the final rally of the season to Chichester marina so a gentle trip in the harbour. You can also join us via car for the walk/meals if you don't want to sail (separate tickets). We are eating in Chichester Yacht Club on the Friday night. It will be busy as it is French Night and we will be upstairs. I am awaiting the menu from CYC so tickets are on hold to book that meal. There is walk along the canal to Hunston and the Spotted Cow for lunch on Saturday (leave marina about 11:30 for 12:30 lunch). Menu is on the website and tickets can be booked. There is a £5 deposit per head. If you are coming by boat please book a boat ticket. Bookings close on 2nd October (CYC may be later).

Flotilla Holiday to Greece - Interested?

Several members have expressed an interest in having a flotilla holiday to Greece next year. This would likely be in either September or October, towards the end of the season when the water is still warm but the crowds will have died down. There is a poll to gauge interest, so if you are interested then go to Flotilla Holiday Survey and complete the questions. Survey closes on 5th October. If we have enough interest we are likely to book it this year.

Finally a reminder about the AGM (see earlier email notification) and getting in any nominations for committee or proposals, or items for discussion by the appropriate time.
