*** New ECA Event in November ***
Unfortunately we have had to cancel the Murder Mystery Evening as we did not have enough members interested to make it viable. It seems that many people were already doing other things that weekend, or it wasn't their 'thing'. Do we try and put this on again at another time of year? Do let us know. A lot of effort went in to getting it arranged but if it is really not something that appeals then we shall not bother in future.
We have instead, at short notice, arranged an alternate get together for the previous weekend, the 16th November at Nicolino's Italian Restaurant in Emsworth, starting at 18:00.
If you wish to come bookings are now open via the website. No deposit or pre-order required. We have space for up to 30. We have limited it to 2 persons per membership at this stage but if you want to bring guests then depending on popularity we may open this up to additional persons nearer the date. We will notify you if we do.
Rally Programme for 2025 now on the website
The draft rally schedule is now visible on the ECA website so do have a look and reserve the dates. If you can't do the whole of the rally due to commitments then you will be able to join for part of it where numbers allow.
Dates for other events will be published in the next month.
ECA Awards - Get your nominations in!
We are looking for nominations for the various ECA Awards (See the ECA Members Directory for details of each award). You can even nominate yourself.
You can easily do this via a 'survey' set up on the website at Awards Nominations (See Polls on the Members Only page of the website). It is quite self explanatory and details what each award is about. You can also email submissions to the ECA Secretary (honsec@emsworthcruisingassociation.co.uk). For the newsletter awards please wait until after the last newsletter of the year has been published before nominating. You can revisit your nominations until they close at the end of the year.
ECA Photographic Competition - Please enter!
The ECA photographic competition is now open so please get your submissions in before the end of the year. Details are in the ECA Members directory. we have a number of entries already. There have been a lot of photos shared on the various events and rallies on Whatsapp, many of which should be in the competition. It is not always clear whose photo is whose but we are happy to have you submit a photo that is not yours if you clearly state that it isn't and we will try and identify whose it is and ask them if they would like is submitted on their behalf. High resolution photos are best submitted via wetransfer.com to cruising@emsworthcruisingassociation.co.uk as direct email may reject them for attachment size. If you have a photo you are having trouble submitting then let me know. Any photos need to be submitted by the end of the year.
ECA 2024 AGM Minutes
The minutes from the AGM held earlier this month are now available to view on the website at: ECA AGM Minutes 2024. As an outcome of the AGM the Constitution and Rules of the Association have been updated and can be found at: ECA Rules.
YOUR INFORMATION THAT WE HOLD - Please check it is correct and update if not.
We are getting closer to the time when we start to look at the information we have on record for you for the 2025 ECA Yearbook/Members Directory. You can update all your information except your name directly via the ECA website using the My Profile link: My Profile. You can also update your boat details using the My Boats link: My Boats. Under your profile you can determine which of your information remains private, visible to members, or publicly visible so make sure you are happy with the settings. We do suggest you allow members to at least see your email address and mobile phone number. If you have any problems updating your information do contact any of the committee who will be able to help.
Finally Sheila is putting together the bumper winter edition of the newsletter which should be out shortly.
