End of season update

The AGM/laying Up Supper has now been and gone and lively discussions were had regarding the yearbook, promoting membership, and future rally destinations. It was great to get so much feedback. Note that the membership fee for 2027 for those with a boat has now gone up to £55 from £50. Membership without a boat stays the same at £25. You can renew membership online from the 1st December, memberships runs from Jan 1st to Dec 31st.

We now have a new Commodore, so welcome Steven Slater to his new position. The new Vice-Commodore is John Adams. A huge thanks to Andy Bannister, our outgoing Commodore for all his work over the last two years.

It has been a great year with our 60th anniversary celebrations. A dinner/dance at Hayling Island Sailing club with guest speaker Tom Cunliffe was a night to remember. Our 60th Anniversary Rally to Weymouth was also a very memorable event for many reasons. And finally our 60th Anniversary Greek Flotilla Rally in Greece (Ionian Islands) was a showstopper, with 16 members across 6 boats enjoying fantastic scenery, sailing, socialising, and swimming in crystal clear waters. We are looking to repeat in 2028 so if you want to join in keep an eye out in early 2027 for an announcement. Brian is furiously working on the 2027 rally programme which will be published in the next few weeks.

We now have a new WhatsApp group called ECA Social that all members can join, just complete the survey to be added. We also now have a public Facebook group called Emsworth Cruising Association where we will be showcasing our activities. Don't forget we have our Speakers Meeting coming up in a couple of weeks where Bill and Andrea will be regaling us with their experiences in sailing along the Scottish West coast and islands. We also have our Christmas Lunch in December at the Emsworth Sailing Club. Places are going fast so book sooner rather than later.
