ECA Rally to Portchester - Friday 26th April to Sunday 28th April
Our second rally rally of the season is to Portchester, another chance for those who have yet to do a 'shakedown' cruise. Portchester Sailing Club is located just above Portchester Castle. Number of boats will be limited. If you aren't coming by boat but want to join us by car for the Saturday evening event then there is a separate ticket for this.
Friday 26th April

For those in EYH with sailboats leave around 11:45 and head to Portsmouth Harbour.
Portchester Sailing Club has a mid-river pontoon just off the club which does not dry and has space for about 4 boats, and there are buoys. There is also a walk ashore pontoon that does dry and you may sit at a slight angle. If you have one, bring your dinghy to get ashore (or cadge a lift with someone who has). Also bring wellies (and a change of clothes) as when the tide is out it can be a bit muddy getting to the slipway. Also bring a torch as it may be dark getting back to the boat in the evening.

Saturday 27th April
Day in and around Portchester. Why not visit Portchester Castle or do the circular walk.
Drinks and Evening Meal in Portchester Sailing Club, starting at 18:00. PSC and ECA are jointly arranging for a band in the evening so put on your dancing shoes. See above for getting ashore and back.
Sunday 28th April

Leave Portchester around 12:00 for those sailboats in EYH who want to arrive around HW.

Participating Skippers are reminded that all ECA rallies and events are carried out under rule 22 of the Emsworth Cruising Association Rules as published in the ECA Yearbook.
Participation in an ECA Rally or event is taken as acknowledgement and understanding of this rule.
The ECA draws to the attention of skippers and crew attending, that full responsibility for sea worthiness of boats and experience of crew attending is held with the skipper of the boat sailing to the rally. All information given should be checked before setting out.
