ECA Rally to Cowes, Marchwood, and Gunwharf Quays
ECA Rally to Cowes (CYH), Marchwood S.C., and Gunwharf Quays
Rally to Cowes Yacht Haven, Marchwood Sailing Club, and Gunwharf Quays. For those of you who have not been to Marchwood before this is a lovely sailing club. You can watch the large container ships and the odd cruise liner turn around in the restricted space looming over you, as well as watch the loading/unloading. There is a lovely walk up to Eling and the Tide Mill.
We do not have any OODs for this rally at present so any meals or activities are subject to change. If you wish to volunteer then please contact the Rear Commodore (Cruising) Brian asap.
If you can just do part of the rally then no problem but please indicate when booking which destinations and which days you will be doing.
Thu 10th Sep - HW Portsmouth 11:45 BST 4.7m
Leave EYH around 10:00 and head for Cowes Yacht Haven.
Pontoon Party at 18:00 and option of Fish and Chips from Corries Cabin
Fri 11th Sep - HW Portsmouth 12:25 BST 4.8m
Leave Cowes around 11:00 -11:30 and head up Southampton Water to Marchwood Sailing Club.
Pontoon Party at 18:00. The clubhouse opens from 19:00 as does the galley so option to eat in the clubhouse or on board.
Sat 12th Sep - Day in Marchwood
A lazy day in and around Marchwood. Those interested we will do the usual walk into Eling. This is a lovely walk through the woods along the shore. You can visit the Tide Mill. Bring a packed lunch or possibly eat in the Anchor Inn (may need to book). The clubhouse/galley is open from 12:00 - 15:00 so you can have lunch there.
Pontoon party at 18:00. The clubhouse opens from 19:00. We have arranged a set meal in the club galley starting at 19:15. The menu is attached below. The cost is £25.95 and there is a £5 per head deposit payable in advance.

Leave Marchwood at around 10:00 to head for Gunwharf Quays.
Lots of opportunity for shopping or visit to the historic dockyard. Possible visit to the Submarine museum on Gosport if time.
Pontoon Party at 18:00. We are booked into Carluccios for 19:00.

Participating Skippers are reminded that all ECA rallies and events are carried out under rule 22 of the Emsworth Cruising Association Rules as published in the ECA Yearbook.
Participation in an ECA Rally or event is taken as acknowledgement and understanding of this rule.
The ECA draws to the attention of skippers and crew attending, that full responsibility for sea worthiness of boats and experience of crew attending is held with the skipper of the boat sailing to the rally. All information given should be checked before setting out.
