ECA Lymington Food Festival Rally (Now Fully Booked)

6th - 9 August 2020

The Lymington food festival has now been moved to later in the month so unfortunately it will now not be on when we are there.

This rally takes in Warsash for an evening on the way to Lymington , where we have two nights booked on the Dan Bran Pontoon.

Thu 6th August - EYH to Warsash

HW Chichester 14:16 BST 4.6m

Leave EYH around 12:00 BST on to head for the Warsash Pontoons at the head of the Hamble river opposite Hamble Point Marina and near the Harbour Masters Office. We should have the walk ashore pontoon but this is currently subject to confirmation. (We may be on the mid-river pontoon so be prepared to bring a dinghy). Information on Warsash Pontoon etc. can be found at https://eoceanic.com/sailing/harbours/432/hamble_river_harbour_master. (Loos may be limited to the public facility near the harbour office, tbc). The ECA have already paid a 50% deposit for which you will receive an ECA invoice, payable in advance of the rally. Remainder of the money to be paid to the OOD on the day.

Distance is 23nM so should take about 5 hours at 5kn. Contact for Warsash: Hamble Harbour Radio Ch 68, HM Office 01489 576387, HM Patrol Mob 07718 146380/1.

The Rising Sun pub is close to the pontoons. This should be open if people wish to take a chance, or go up Shore Rd to the Ship and Shovel in Warsash proper. There is the Frying Fish fish and chip shop there too. As we have no idea exactly what arrangements will be in place at the time we have not booked anything specifically with regards to meals etc. If you want to go to a pub you are likely to have to book a table in advance by phone or online through their app or website.

Fri 7th August - Warsash to Lymington

HW Portmouth 15:00 BST 4.5m

Leave Warsash around 13:00 BST to pick up the start of the ebb to head to Lymington, Dan Bran Pontoon.

Distance is around 13nM so should take about 3 hours or so at 5kn. Contact is Lymington Harbour Commissioners, Harbour Patrol Ch 66, LHC Office 01590 672014. Please pay for berthing at LHC office. The ECA have already paid a deposit of £10 per boat for which you will receive an ECA invoice, payable in advance of the rally. You will be invoiced for the full amount by the Harbour Office in advance (payment needs to be made 2 days before the visit). ECA will refund your deposit.

Socially distanced pontoon party close to Koto from 17:00 if allowed and safe to do so. As we have no idea exactly what arrangements will be in place at the time we have not booked anything specifically with regard to meals etc.

Sat 8th August - Lymington

As the food festival is now not going to be there is a great circular walk along the coast to Keyhaven where the Gun Inn is located, and then back on the inland paths.

Sun 9th August - Lymington to EYH

HW Portsmouth 16:10 BST 4.3m

Leave Lymington around 10:00 BST to pick up the start of the flood. It is about 30nM to EYH so should take about 6 hours @ 5kn.
