Join us for a virtually weather proof Spring rally incorporating some boat based and some land based treasure and clue hunting fun around Chichester Harbour. Staying within the safety of beautiful Chichester Harbour, we hope that this rally will appeal whatever your boat size or your crew’s level of ability.
The rally will start with us meeting in our fancy dress (optional) for a briefing outside the office at Emsworth Yacht Harbour at 10.30 on Saturday. There you will receive your treasure maps which will then take you off on foot, collecting your land based clues before setting off for Itchenor Visitor Pontoon as soon as the EYH sill height allows (approx. 12:30 for 1.5m draft). For those based outside EYH then either have your dinghy in EYH, or cadge a lift out to your boat from one of those based in the marina.
For lunch we will meet up at the mid-channel visitor pontoon at Itchenor where an individual picnic lunch will be provided to all rally-goers. There will be plenty of experienced crews around to catch lines and tie up those who need any help. The afternoon will be more clue hunting by boat this time before coming in to Sparks Marina** (All tide access, but do make sure you keep to the channel) for our overnight berths. The last clues will be land based around the marina and HISC so keep some energy for the last sprint.
We will then meet up in our normal clothes in the bar at Hayling Island Sailing Club at 18:30 where your treasure will be collected and the winners and losers decided. HISC will be doing a supper in their panoramic restaurant where the day’s awards, including best fancy dress will be made.
On Sunday we will make our way back to our home ports at leisure as Sparks is all tide access, but those needing to come into EYH should be able to go across the sill by around 13:00 for a 1.5m draft. If the weather is nice why not potter around the harbour before heading back.
If you wish to come on this rally please fill the form on the form below.
* Attendees will be responsible for settling their own bills on the night.
** Attendees are responsible for settling their own marina bills (rate: ~£4.00 per metre at time of press).
