ECA EASTER RALLY TO BRIGHTON MARINA
24 th August 2019 – 26 th August 2019
Sat 24th – HW Emsworth 05.47, 3.9m;
Mon 26th – HW Emsworth 20.45, 4.1m;
This year’s August bank Holiday rally is a slightly more adventurous trip to Brighton.
Those that have been there before will know that there is plenty to fill our days there with a vibrant if rather large marina complex and relatively close proximity to the town with its
many and varied attractions Berths have been reserved for the rally in Brighton marina. If you are interested in coming please register your interest on the form at the end of these details.
The necessity to have the benefit of the flood tide to get to Brighton which is only about
35NM (going inside the Owers via the Looe channel))from west pole means that is not a
regular destination for harbour based yachts, the tides over the bank holiday however do offer an opportunity.
For EYH based yachts who need about 4ft on the cill we will need to leave about HW at
06.00 and then wait in the harbour either on the deep water pontoon or anchor further down the harbour. The tide will start to go slack in shore and then run east from about 10.30 up to about 17.00. With a good knot or so behind us this should give a good run.
Returning on the Monday we will need to leave Brighton around HW at 08.00 and take the ebb back to Chichester harbour. EYH based yachts will have to wait until about 19.30 to get 4ft on the cill
When you approach Brighton marina call them on VHF Chan 80 and inform them you are
part of the ECA rally and ask for berthing instructions.
