It’s that time of year again – our last Rally of the 2017 programme, when you can tell stirring tales of your exploits through the summer in a convivial atmosphere. Those who attended, the ‘Chant de Marin’ at Paimpol, or tried to, will have stories to tell for sure.
Those attending by boat from EYH can get over the sill from about 10.56hrs on Saturday, depending on their draft, pushing the flood down to the Harbour entrance, then carrying the flood up past Itchenor.
On Sunday, a fairly leisurely start about 11.31hrs, to push the tide down to the Harbour entrance, before turning for EYH.
For those arriving by road, Chichester Yacht Club (CYC) is located at the west end of the ChichesterYachtBasin. Follow the A.286 south from the Chichester by-pass or the A259/Dell Quay junction short cut, and just after an ’S’ bend the signposted entrance to the Yacht Basin is on the right. Follow the canal-side road through the Basin, and the Club and car park are located at the far end of the road.
Tringa II is currently hors de combat but MoonDance (Suzy & Mark Dorsett) have kindly invited members aboard for drinks and nibbles before the gathering, weather permitting, at 18.00 hrs.
Meet in the CYC bar at 19.00 hours for the meal at 19.30hrs
The CYC Caterers are putting on a traditional Trafalgar Night roast beef dinner menu for us. Please see the form below for menu and booking form.
In honour of the ‘Little Admiral’, we shall try to be a little more formally dressed than usual this time, although our Trafalgar evening will not be a fully traditional RN style one, so our Dress Code is;
Ladies: Whatever you wish, of course, or Nelsonian Period dress, Tiara and pearls, ‘little black number’, or smart casual.
Gentlemen; Nelsonian Period dress (All Ranks-dummy swords/cutlasses only please), or Mess Dress, Reefers, ‘Blazers’, Collar and Club Tie/Cravat.
