Shepard’s Wharf Cowes for Yarmouth Old Gaffers Rally

Shepard’s Wharf Cowes

for Yarmouth Old Gaffers Rally

Friday 3nd  June – Sunday 5th June

Every year the Old Gaffers meet in Yarmouth to celebrate traditional boats, drink beer and appraise each others’ bowsprits. This year the Town has opted out of supplying the associated Carnival so it will be almost totally boat related- more like the good old-fashioned Regatta.  This may be a good thing as the low key approach probably means less traffic and people jams in and around the town.

We have booked berths at Shepard’s Wharf in Cowes for Friday and Saturday nights – you’d need to arrive at Shepard’s on Friday if you want to visit Yarmouth. If you just want to take advantage of the rally rate for a normal weekend in Cowes that’s also fine!

Would you therefore specify which day you intend to arrive at Cowes.

It will be necessary to take public transport to Yarmouth.  As it’s only 9 miles from Cowes a shared taxi may be a better plan. If using the bus, the Number 1 runs into Newport  and the Number 7 will take you on to Yarmouth.  (The bus people Southern Vectis  have a website with timetables). Witch Hazel will be visible in the Harbour all day. When you arrive or need refreshment please contact us on the mobile and we shall conduct you to the boat.

We are leaving dinner arrangements quite flexible in view of the scaled-back event but we can confer on this once numbers are known.

IF YOU WISH TO JOIN US, PLEASE LET US KNOW AS SOON AS POSSIBLE VIA THE FORM BELOW IN ORDER TO SORT THE BOOKINGS FOR THE  MARINA.

To register an interest in this event please complete the details below and press Submit.
