ECA 21 to 22 May 2016 Chichester Harbour Event

Chi Raid  -  Sat 21 to Sun 22 May 2016

Revised plan for our Chichester Harbour Event

Chichester Harbour should be safe from most of the marauding hordes of Vikings this weekend!

Due to the forecast of unsettled weather conditions, and lack of open boats wishing to participate in ChiRaid, we are re-scheduling our booking for Oyster Boat Terror and have changed our plan for the event.

We will let you know the new dates for the trips on Oyster Boat Terror and these will operate out of Emsworth Yacht Harbour later this summer.

We currently have 5 boats booked up for this weekend, so we are still going ahead with the exploration of the sheltered and picturesque upper reaches of Chichester Harbour and the supper at Itchenor Sailing Club.

But we need more boats to take part!  This is our plan:

We will meet at Itchenor Visitors pontoon at, or just after, 11:00 BST on Saturday and, if appropriate, decant to the smaller, shallower draft boats for the Bosham Channel exploration.

We will moor overnight at Itchenor Visitors pontoon on Saturday and have Supper at Itchenor Sailing Club.

The Sunday visit to Dell Quay will be timed to allow our boats to return to their moorings while there is still enough water.

If you fancy a lunch time snack, the sailing clubs at Bosham and Dell Quay can provide a good range of light refreshments.

Comms via VHF CH 77 or mobile phone.

Even if you can only make the Supper at Itchenor Sailing Club you will be very welcome!

It’s not too late to book, so if you (or anyone you know) would like to join us for the sailing or the Supper at Itchenor Sailing Club on Saturday evening, please phone or email me.

Participating skippers are reminded that all ECA rallies and events are carried out under rule 22 of the Emsworth Cruising Association Rules as published in the Emsworth Cruising Association Yearbook. Participation in an ECA rally or event is taken as acknowledgement and understanding of this rule.
