So to plan B
Despite East Cowes saying they had space for us on 5th when I tried to book they said that they did not have any space !
So to plan B. I have booked us on the the pontoons at the Folly and have also booked a table at the Folly Inn for the Saturday night so we can have a meal and then do our thing on the tables.
We can take dinghies or the water taxi down to Cowes Saturday afternoon from watch the scrutinering and then a couple of boats down watch the start on Sunday morning which is off the yacht squadron. Play rest of day according to the weather.
Please note this is an informal rally so it is up to you to sort your own passage plan but we should be up at the Folly by 10 ish as it is an early tide, going over Friday night may also be a possibility.
Koto and Witch Hazel only takers so far but I am sure there will be more, please let me know during the week so I can increase boat and meal numbers.
For those that fancy seeing a bit of marine muscle power I am organising an informal rally to Cowes for the weekend of 5th / 6th September.
The race boats gather in Cowes Yacht Haven on Saturday 6th for scrutineering and you can normally get in to have a good look at them.
The race starts at 09.00 on Sunday morning off the RYS with a rolling start
Outline plan is:
Take Friday afternoon (HW approx. 16.40) or early Saturday morning(HW approx05.00) tide out of EYH and head down to Cowes.
Moor East Cowes Marina
Visit Cowes Yacht Haven pm followed by meal somewhere and perhaps a beer and some music at The Anchor.
Sunday AM Take Tamarisk, and any other motorboats I can persuade to come, out to watch rolling start
Return to East Cowes
Depart East Cowes to arrive Emsworth Pontoon about 15.00, raft up for Afternoon Tea.
Return to EYH from about 17.00 depending on draft.
I have checked with East Cowes and there is room at the moment.
If any of you rag and stick brigade are secret petrol heads and think you may like to join us please let me know asap via the details below so I can get a rough idea on numbers and make a booking at East Cowes.
