A number of us were talking at the Boat Show Rally last weekend and several showed interest in a non-boat rally to The Kings Theatre in Southsea to see Sister Act, a musical comedy, in which one of our members, Sheila Elsdon, is playing Mother Superior. The actors are from Portsmouth Players, a semi-professional group with an acclaimed performance pedigree. From what I have seen and heard it should be very funny. I defy anyone not to be on their feet swinging along to the last number.
I shall be front of house selling raffle tickets and backstage making tea for cast and crew so I may see you there. The production is being staged on the evenings of 14th to 18th October at 7.30pm with a Matinee performance on the 18th at 2.30pm. I am happy to arrange a party booking on the Saturday evening (18th) if I receive enough interest quickly. High Tide, Portsmouth is 2037, 3.8m so some people may not get passed the bar! Being close to neaps the tidal streams will be slight. Car parking near to The Kings can sometimes be a pain so car sharing from EYH might be a good idea. Tickets are selling fast so at this short notice I may not be able to get all seated together. Parties of 10 receive a discount of one free seat. Otherwise, you could do your own thing. Adult tickets are priced between £10 and £16. The Kings Box Office number is 02392 8288282.
Urgent expressions of interest to email@example.com or ‘phone 07572430145 if you wish to be considered for a party booking.
Hope to see you there.
