Shakedown Rally to Port Solent Portsmouth 11-12th February 2012
|Please note the Change of venue from haslar Marina, as per Rally Note with January 2012 Newsletter.|
|Saturday 11th February.||HW Portsmouth||13:44 (4.8m)|
|Sunday 12th February.||HW Portsmouth||14:32 (4.7m)|
|Emsworth Cruising Association prides itself on being one of the first clubs in the Solent to start the rally season, so far with the Frostbite Rally this year already under our belts, and our hardy winter cruisers already satiated with the Gosport Fleshpots, so they have suggested a change of destination.|
|So, instead of Haslar Marina, we are off to Port Solent, a location that allows a shortish sail to blow the cobwebs out of the sails for most, a long chug up Portsmouth harbour, followed by a wide choice of warm eating venues close to the Marina.|
|The Club has not Rallied there for quite some seasons, so it will be interesting to see how things have changed.|
|When transiting the Harbour, Skippers should be aware of QHM's requirements in Portsmouth LNTM's including 04/12 & 07/12 particularly.|
|Drinks and nibbles at about 5:00 pm on Tringa II.|
We have a choice of dining venues around the marina complex, so I
suggest those attending the Rally review the choices and decide
on the night.
Please let me know as early as possible if you intend to come, as we will need to book in with the Marina.

Participating skippers are reminded that all ECA rallies and events
are carried out under Rule 22
of the Emsworth Cruising Association Rules as published
in the Emsworth Cruising Association Yearbook.

and understanding of this rule.
The ECA draws to the attention of skippers and crew attending that full responsibility, for sea worthiness of boats and experience of crew attending, is held with the skipper of the boat sailing to the rally; all information given in guidance should be checked before setting out.
It is a recommendation of the ECA and the RYA that full and working safety equipment is carried on board for the protection of crew as laid down in RYA guidelines. Third party insurance must be valid for the boat taking part.
This event is for members and their crews only.
