ECA Easter Cruise To Western Solent 6th – 9th April 2012
We have been fortunate to secure some of the best marina berths in The Solent for this years Easter Cruise.
The rally officially commences on Friday 6th April at Harold Hayes pontoon at Yarmouth I.O.W. where we are booked for an overnight stay. Drinks and nibbles will be served aboard Gabriel from 17:30hrs. There are a range of eating houses in Yarmouth and it may be possible to make use of the harbour BBQ facilities should the anticipated heat wave arrive!
As many of us from the Chichester end of The Solent may find it difficult to make Yarmouth on a single tide – some may prefer to leave on Thursday 5th April (HW Portsmouth 10:53 at 4.5 metres local time) with a leisurely overnight, perhaps at the Folly Inn, Cowes. (A fair tide to Yarmouth should then be available from 09:30 until 11:30 hrs local time on Friday 6th)
After the delights of Yarmouth on Easter Saturday 7th April a short sail (or longer if you prefer) will bring us to the Dan Bran pontoon inside Lymington harbour where we are booked overnight. An option of a cruise meal has been organised at the Lymington Town Sailing Club 7:45 for 8:00pm and a menu is attached, numbers are strictly limited to 25 so early booking is essential (a £5.00 per person deposit has been requested by the Lymington club).
Those returning to the Eastern Solent will need to make an early start on Sunday 8th April (around 06:00 to catch the spring tide back to Chichester where we hope to anchor overnight at East Head. Possibilities are endless, perhaps an evening or early morning BBQ on the beach might be fun (members might like to arrive with portable BBQ, food and perhaps a bottle?)
|Monday 9th April 2012||HW Portsmouth UTC||14:01 (4.9m)|
I will listen out on Channel 16/08. Mobile: 07932 752 697 Home: 01905 453 691 Email: email@example.com.
IF YOU WISH TO JOIN US PLEASE LET US KNOW BY THURSDAY 29th MARCH AS WE NEED TO CONFIRM BOOKINGS. Details of bookings for the meal at Lymington on Saturday 7th April together with choice of meal are also needed (menu attached ). ECA are required to pay a non refundable deposit of £5.00 per head.
